About Us

Founded in 1966, KMS is the oldest established Montessori school in Knoxville. We provide a high-quality education in a diverse, supportive, and nurturing environment.

The Knoxville Montessori School is a nonprofit private school that serves children 2 - 15 years old, enrolling students through 10th grade in Fall of 2023, and adding an Upper School (16-18 years old) in the Fall of 2024. KMS is governed by a Board of parents, staff, and community members and is accredited by The International Montessori Council and validated by the Montessori Alliance of Tennessee.
