[My son] has transitioned well to Sequoyah Elementary. Please tell Ms. Kuentz that all three of his report cards this year have mentioned that he is "very engaged" and "loves to learn"-- I give her credit for this!! KMS Parent, 2017

Diversity

Students

KMS values diversity and admits children of any gender, race, color, religion, and national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to children at the school.

KMS does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, religion, or national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarships, and other school-administered programs.

All children who meet the age requirements will be evaluated fairly on the basis of the standards set forth on our Admission page.

Our students and their families come  from all parts of the United States and the world. In recent years, approximately

  • 1/3 are of color or have international roots;
  • 1/3 have moved to Knoxville from other states;
  • 1/3 have roots in Tennessee.

Countries of origin include: India, Argentina, Russia, China, Vietnam, Mexico, Brazil, Jamaica, Iran, Turkey, and Israel.

Ethnicities include: Asian, African-American, Hispanic and Native American.

This diversity enriches our school and helps prepare our students for the multi-cultural world of the 21st century.
